Loop hike “Challancin - Mont Court de Bard”: this itinerary goes through the protection forest located above the village of Challancin (1.640 m a.s.l.) and ends at the watershed ridge separating the valley of Vertosan and the main valley.

  • Backpack of 25 litre max. 
  • Clothes to wear: hiking boots (preferably waterproof) or après-ski boots (no moon boot), t-shirt (preferably of breathable fabric, like microfibre), hiking socks, wool hat, winter gloves, sunglasses, windstopper jacket or shell jacket, mountain trousers (or ski suit), ski tights (to wear in colder months, if necessary) 
  • Inside the backpack: spare t-shirt, water bottle/thermos + snack (like cereal bars, chocolate), sunscreen
  • Extra: personal pharmacy kit (painkillers, compeed, aspirine), camera, binoculars

  • Difficulty of the snowshoe hike: WT3 (demanding snowshoe hike), according to S.A.C. (Swiss Alpine Club) rating scale. Good fitness and health required. Consider a minimum of workout before the departure.
  • Minimum age: 16 years (excursion suitable for adults)

The programme of the tour may be modified for reasons not attributable to the organization (bad snow and weather conditions, technical level of the participants, for the safety of the group. etc.). The activity will take place only if it reached the min number of participants or, if not, with the payment of the missing minimum quotas

The meeting point is the parking area near the roundabout on the highway 26 in La Salle. The Excursion will begin after a short transfer by car (about 20 min) to reach Challancin village
