Hiking Getaway

A family-friendly circular walk through forests and across meadows to the Kernstock observation tower, which offers a fabulous view of the Wechselgebiet. Especially in early summer, when the meadows are full of colourful flowers, or in the colourful autumn, this hike is recommended.

We visit the Tempelbergwarte, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Greifenstein Castle and towers over the Danube Bend at the Vienna Gate. The lookout tower crowns the 403 meter high Tempelberg and offers a view of the Tullnerfeld, the Alpine foothills and the Danube.

We climb the legendary "Türkensturz", crowned by an artificial ruin, over alpine, partly hidden paths and enjoy the expansive view.

An easy tour, friendly for beginners, with a subtle alpine character. The Großer Kitzberg rises to a height of almost 800 meters in the south of Pernitz. Small rock walls adorn its summit and allow deep views into the valley.

A leisurely circular hiking trail in the Wachau. With the well-known village of Spitz as the starting point, the path leads us through beautiful vineyards and idyllic forest landscapes to the nature reserve and summit of the Buchberg.

This somewhat more demanding round leads us through the high forests of the Vienna Woods to the Ried castle ruins and the former Franciscan monastery “In Paradise”, where there are mysterious stone spheres.

The Hohe Stein lies in the Dunkelsteinerwald and is a quiet and idyllic place with a wonderful view over a large part of the Wachau and down to the Danube. For some, it is considered the most beautiful vantage point in the entire Wachau.

A hike through the heart of the Eichenhain Nature Park in the northern Vienna Forest. Probably the best-known hiking offer between Tulln and Klosterneuburg is the Hagenbachklamm, where the path meanders gently through a narrow valley together with the Hagenbach.

We will ascend to the plateau of the Hohe Wand via the steep path that is secured with wire ropes and leads through a cave. After the ascent, we visit the Skywalk, which allows a breathtaking view into the depths.

We stroll through the picturesque forests around Göttweig Abbey. Winding paths lead us through a natural jewel surrounding the Göttweig Abbey. We can look forward to a very varied nature experience and a short detour to a beautiful cultural site.

Our destination is the Großer Sonnleitstein, which rests lonely between the large limestone stocks Schneeberg, Rax and Schneealpe.

The Gamsstein is a quiet, isolated mountain with a panoramic view in the south-western corner of Lower Austria. It reaches a height of almost 1,800 meters and offers a direct view of its neighbours such as the Hochkar and the adjacent mountain groups.
