The bus from Ercolano to Vesuvius was late and the way from Vesuvius to Pompeii was a disaster. After arriving to Vesuvio the whole bus was told to meet back at the parking lot at 12:40 and take a bus number 5. So we jumped on the bus 5 (that was also late) but then some guy came and told us to leave the bus, because this one is going back to Ercolano and not Pompei. After that we learned that the bus leaving to Pompei already left at 12:30 but nobody told us that we should take that! Not the previous bus driver or the lady in the agency (and its also not in any written information we got). So then we were told to "wait 5 minutes" that turned out to be another hour in the parking lot. I had to buy a 2 euro water to at least get to a toilet! Final call was the guy buying us tickets for public transport to Pompei. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I liked that everything was like we have booked it. I don’t know if it was more expensive than a normal bus but we hat also the trip to Pompei after Vesuvio and everything was organized good an we arrived in time

I found the transport itself very well organised and it was also cool to look out a bit with a beautiful view over the nearby cities while driving up Vesuvius. the only regret I heard from my friends is that they got a bit sick of the bus ride as it was sometimes a bit intense in the turns.
Since we were the only ones in the group who had also requested transport to Pompei, they also arranged a taxi for us that was ready when we arrived back in Ercolano.
